First, she needed to find Mayko and ask her very best friend in the whole world if she'd be her maid of honour at her wedding, because the maid of honour helped out with things like that, Jill thought. Picking out the dress, doing all the difficult work, making sure the groom didn't run away before the big moment, although she doubted Rodney was going to do any running away, because Rodney was wonderful and perfect.
Breezing right into the lab, she went straight to where Mayko was standing -- and really, who wanted to work in a disgusting, dark lab all day when it was so beautiful outside? -- and stood in front of her, beaming.
"I have a favour to ask you," she said. "And it doesn't have anything to do with these gross vials and containers of weird island goo or whatever it is you're doing here, okay? It's a real favour."
