So after Blue Beetle was programmed to kill Maxwell Lord, attempts to break the programming sent him into a coma. The League is trying to snap him out of it, while Booster Gold is in quarantine moping.
Boooostle! Michael and Ted are adorable. Far too adorable for their own good.
I love Bruce in this incarnation of the League. He's very patient, and nice, and fun. He's scary and competent, but he' still a guy. I like that. The facepalm is adorable. And Ted!Kent face when he says 'I'm a zombie!!' it's hilarious. JLI, woo! do you have this in tades, or digital copies? I want JLI *pouts*.
You can get all these issues (they're labeled JLA v.2 ) at the web page of a mutual friend of ours...you have the page, right? If not, email me and I'll send it along. They're great! I thought I pretty much had a handle on the DCU, and then I started doing research into these guys, and realized I knew almost nothing about this period of comics and these characters! Now I'm completely hooked on Guy, Ice, Fire, Booster, Beetle, the lot of them.
Booster and Beetle are my version of your Jason/Bruce...if I were ever to be tempted to a different pairing, it would be them...despite the obvious limitations currently in place (*sniffle*). It's like they're a strange mundane mirror image of S/B...a bright flashy hero and a quieter, unpowered tinkerer.
I actually really like the JLI version of Batman. He can be quite cranky, but it's clear that at some level he's kind of enjoying the hassle and chaos of dealing with these people.
