The last week had been one emergency after another--interstellar invasions, natural disasters, a power-grab by Luthor, a couple of temporal anomalies that needed attention--there had been little time for much more than fighting and an occasional hour of sleep.
*pets Clark* Poor baby...
Almost nothing in their interactions that would indicate Clark had at last found out what Bruce's eyes looked like lit with ecstasy, what his voice sounded like calling out Clark's name in rapture. Bruce had been bright and dark together, mystery and clarity, passion and restraint--
... Guuuuhhh...
There may be no other sign of human life on the island, but it would hardly do to sweep the man up in an embrace. However much he might want to.
Hee. *pets Clark again*
"The emergency is that the JLA has noticed that one of its members is dangerously overstressed and overworked and has requested that I be sure he gets a little bit of rest and relaxation."
*giggles*
The other glove came off quite slowly, revealing Bruce's skin bit by bit;*drools

Clark and Bruce were very frustrated here! It was a pleasure to give them some alone time... :)
Mmm, I really liked Clark's memory of Bruce during sex. What it would take to get Batman lost in passion...is fun to imagine. :)
Bruce as a spirit was a fun image! I really wanted to work in some of Clark as a spirit of the air, like Ariel in the Temptest, but it wouldn't get in without becoming kind of pedantic, lol. If I'd been in Bruce's head...but then I would have lost the wood-spirit image and I loved that too much to give up.
Isn't the art gorgeous!? I spent a lot of time just staring at it, although I couldn't make it my wallpaper while I was in Maine, lol...
Beautiful imagery as always, Jen. I especially liked this: "I couldn't wait any longer," Bruce panted, writhing against him, head flung back, hair trailing in the water like a dark cloud.
Bruce certainly fills that role nicely! So does that make Clark Eve, or the apple? ;)
Wonderful story, Jen! I firmly believe in rest and relaxation. I deplore the American penchant to disregard vacations. Can you say burn-out?
I love Clark floating! As I told Rai, I once saw a picture of SV Clark floating while on a picnic with Lex, and it's an illo I always remember! :) I love Clark using his powers in ways like this. :)

A little of both, I suspect! :D
I think Bruce especially would be quite strict about avoiding burnout. He would probably sometimes be a bit joyless about it--but with Clark, he probably would really enjoy himself.
I do enjoy Clark using his powers casually and relaxedly. It always says something about his trust toward who he's with.
Hmm, so the rest of us have to make do with stress relief toys and Clark gets flirty, slowly stripping naked Bruce... unfair! Ah, but Clark deserves it lol!
Btw, I was having a mooch through your Bruce/Clark non-series story list earlier and now they've disappeared. *woe*

It is terribly unfair, is it not? Luckily, Clark enjoys it enough for all of us. :)

*HORRIFIED LOOK* Auuuuugh. Thank you for pointing that out to me, I might not have noticed it for a while. Now begins the hard, hard work of reconstructing the fic list...*shudders unhappily*
