Hey, speaking of influence! Your story definitely encouraged me to write this...although I decided to avoid the h/c of the hangover, lol. Yeah, Kryptonians are lucky bastards and don't get hangovers from their favorite drink! Bruce is going to have to be careful or Kal will be breaking into his stores... :)
You seem to have a talent for keeping just this side of the embarrassment squick, because normally drunk stories also go a bit too far for me, but not this one! :-) I think it's that Bruce isn't embarrassed or mocking, he just has fun with it. And it helps that zhynan has the opposite effect of Terran alcohol when it comes to physical arousal. *grins*
This was wonderfully sweet. I loved that once Kal got Bruce tied up, he was the one whose control totally fell apart! And the ending was, of course, perfect. Bruce probably had that wine analyzed down to the last molecule before he even considered offering it to Kal. Just in case. :-)
You seem to have a talent for keeping just this side of the embarrassment squick...It helps that I have some of the same squick myself--though not as much as my husband, who simply can't watch sitcoms and romantic comedies. He gets increasingly fidgety and eventually yells something like, "I can't stand it! Just tell him the truth or it's all going to backlash on you and you'll be mortified!" at the screen and bolts from the room

*grins* I've been known to do the same thing on occasion. Although mostly I try to get through it by plugging my ears and humming loudly for awhile!
Despite having the squick, I do have a lot of fun writing Clark being embarrassed, but yeah...I tend to make it bearable (at least to myself) by having Bruce or any other witnesses be affectionate about it.
I can understand. Steve is the same in a lot of ways, I think. I read a story that described him as being like a high school football player when he's embarrassed, and it's so true! He's incredibly cute when he blushes.
Although with Lois as a partner, I bet Clark embarrasses less easily than he might otherwise. *g*

I think I can handle it better when it's my pairing because I can be in the embarrassed person's head and know it's not TOO bad, or in the other person's and know they're not laughing at them harshly.
I wonder if it's a fandom thing? Because the popularity of sitcoms and comedies that play on embarrassment and/or humiliation seems to indicate that most folks don't have that squick. But I find a lot of folks in fandom do. Maybe we sympathise with the characters more?I wonder if it's something a lot of people have but don't feel safe admitting? Because it's just as bad with a random sitcom as with characters he knows for my husband, but when we're with friends he'll grit his teeth, because it seems like such an odd thing to be squicked by. It wasn't until really recently I began to realize it wasn't a very isolated

I had fun making a sort of Ideal Alcohol, lol. Just makes you happy and fuzzy and horny, and no hangover...oh, those lucky Kryptonians...

The picture totally melted my brain, and when she told me the story she imagined behind it I kind of begged her to let me write it. I have no shame...
*hugs* Glad you liked it!
