I saw The Lion King in theaters last night. It was kind of weirdly surreal and awesome. We went to a later show, so every single person in that audience were college age kids or older. There were some drunk annoying people who thought it’d be HILARIOUS to recite the movie back and forth to each other VERY LOUDLY. Cool guy, you’re not impressing

btw, never, NEVER have i heard so many people in a theater crying as when mufasa dies, when my sister and i went to see the reissue. i mean, not even close. and the last movie i went to see before this was the freaking DEATHLY HALLOWS.

Yessss. And now I'm hunting down others on Youtube.
I didn't hear any sniffles in our theater, but at least the rowdiness died down during that part. I think what always gets me isn't when Mufasa actually dies, it's Simba's reaction to it.

IT IS INSANELY HARD YOU HAAAAAVE TO PLAY IT MORE THAN JUST ONE NIGHT OKAY
I didn't hear any sniffles in our theater,
the only explanation is that 85% of the viewers had already gone to see the reissue 8 times and were no out of tears.

The only thing that changed back from when I used to watch it as a kid is that the scenes like "Mufasa shows Simba the stars" and "You said you'd always be there for me... but you're not" get to me even MORE than Mufasa's death now. Whenever those come up, I'm an inconsolable mess every. single. time. Interesting how our perception changes as we grow up.
Also, I've never owned a more awesome Sega game than TLK. I must have finished it about a million times before I moved on, and then kept relapsing every once in a while. Good times!
