Try to crawl into my head

You know, Dreamwidth folks. I’d be more interested in looking into getting a Dreamwidth account if Twitter wasn’t full of people gloating about how ~*amazing*~ DW is every time LJ is down. It immediately turns me off the community aspect of it. One day, I may end up there, I may not. But despite the LJ DDoS attacks, you’re not exactly making the ( Read more... )

I keep being at my internship or at school when the DDoS happens. LOL besides I hear it is politically-motivated; it's to do with a dissident Georgian and Russians or something. But yes, I'm the same with the DW stans. From the way they portray it, it's like Dreamwidth is some sort of magical place where dreams come true. So if I go there and I don't immediately:
1. get an awesome job
2. get to have the sexytiems with all the men I desire
3. get a million dollars
4. get chocolate, endlessly
I am bound to be disappointed.
I'll stay here, where this will be my tenth year here, thanks.

Stans generally rub me the wrong way regardless of who/what they're stanning for. Even for things that I *like*, my embarrassment level shoots through the rough when someone starts stanning. SETTLE DOWN NOW, BESSIE.

I'm totally okay with people being fans of DW and LJ. It's the gloating that I'm not a fan of, especially when it's something that's outside of LJ's control, from what I'm reading. And you know the second DW goes down, the LJ stans will jump right onto them. CHILL OUT, PEOPLE. IT'S JUST A BLOG.

Besides, I don't post enough anymore and I'm finding myself more reading than anything else.

Ahh, I love One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Amazing. (A Clockwork Orange is pretty awesome, too, but yeah. Way different, haha.)

This I've heard. And yes! I quite enjoyed "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"! At times, I was like "Awwww, this movie is really sweet!"

I have a Dreamwidth account tilde just in case tilde. I really can't blame LJ for collapsing under DDOS attacks. Remember 2009 folks? When Twitter, LJ AND Facebook were hit? When the servers aren't being maliciously attacked LJ tends to run just fine.

Some movies I love: Swingers, Amadeus, Some Like it Hot, Bringing Up Baby, The Graduate, In the Mood for Love, Sweet Hereafter, Full Metal Jacket, About Schmidt, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, My Beautiful Girl Marie. Have you see on the Hitchcock ones? You could throw those in there too.

OOOO, thanks for the suggestions! I've seen a few of those and some are on my list, but I'll add the others.

I'll look through my DVDs later see if I can come up with anything else! Those were just what I could think of off the top of my head.

Sadly, my brain is too cloudy today to come up with more wonderful movie recommendations, but I really wanted to second Some Like it Hot and Bringing Up Baby really, really strongly. Not to dismiss the other movies above, but those two are *so* much fun.

Aaaah, you watched Downton Abbey!

Whatchya think? Whatchya think????

DW creeps me out too. I posted awhile ago and some complete stranger was all "Welcome, friend! I saw your post on the "what's new" page! You're gonna love it here!!!"

It made me feel like I'd joined a cult.

Also? I watched the first two seasons of 30 Rock this weekend AND YOU ARE ENTIRELY TO BLAME.

It was really good! I like Anna and Mr. Bates and the youngest daughter and her QUEST to make that one maid a secretary.

That's kind of creepy. And even though it's a "welcoming message", it just puts me off more.

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. I'D SHOWER YOU IN LIZ LEMON GIFS, BUT MY ACCOUNT IS DOWN AT THE MO.

I completely agree about DW. Mostly I'm turned off by their whole "You can join us but only if one of us invites you." WHATEVER, PEOPLE, I'M AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN.

Isn't Downton Abbey so fun? And pretty? I loved it.
