I am fail.

I may have gone to see Eclipse last night. I... I feel a little dirty that I've contributed money towards the Twilight series. I went mainly for the lulz, but even boozing it up before the movie (and during) didn't help.

Oh god, why did I go.

fail, fml, movie

Morbid curiosity, I suppose. Plus, my pals have a way of making others enthused.

I took my little sister and expected it to be horrible in every way it was and enjoyed it (don't get me wrong, it totally is terrible and i will probably never see it again)

Its like some hack writer ripped as many teen angst moments out of the book as possible and most of them i had forgotten were even in there.

Broke out into laughter at every VAMPIRES STANDING THERE action sequence

and reallly, c'mon guys any room int he budget to get the cullens to look halfway decent? i mean we could have cut Bryce Dallas Howard's eye makeup specialist, but then i guess her daddy would have gotten mad

I had hoped to enjoy the Badness of it, but alas. No, it was not meant to be.

Sounds like the classic "I was sooo drunk last night ..." defense of m/m fanfic. Now I'm wondering if you're a closet vamp-lover.

But at least you didn't go see that other movie, so there's hope.

I'm not a closet vamp-lover. I'm an out and about vampire lover. I love me some vamps. But not the ones that sparkle and apparently turn to crystal when you kill them.

Vampires were the big bad in too many of my childhood fears for me to see their romantic appeal (although Spike came close - if only because he had so much life in him) but ... I respect them and the traditions surrounding them. Edward and company make a mockery of those traditions and that I despise.

And then there's the whole male-dominance psychological abuse thing going that pushes a whole 'nother set of buttons. It disturbs me that little girls are reading these books and dreaming of the dominant male who will take care of them and keep them ignorant and subservient forever. That fantasy is far more dangerous than the fairy tale Prince Charming and romance ever after, imho.

I apologise for getting too serious on you, and for implying that you might secretly like Twilight etc. That last was completely uncalled for.
