Douchebags.

So there was an attack on LJ last night and my journal was one of the ones infected. You can read up about it here, here, here, and finally, here.

I've seen one other person on my f-list attacked, so just double-check your most recent entries to see if they had the embedding code they mention. I've already deleted that entry.

there's also something really hilarious to me about the term "malicious flash code"
lol flash can't be malicious, it's too inept!

That was pretty much the conclusion reached by a commenter at the news post: that Flash sucks, is buggy, is insecure, and LJ should participate in lobbying the W3C to get rid of it.

Problem is, it's so ubiquitous...

I feel all dirty. One of my entries caught it too.

I removed the offending HTML code.

I think mine was ok, at least I can't see any entries that were altered. I think I might be glad I have flashblock on everything. That extra step keeps me from watching every video on post ever.

I'm really glad too, because my last entry at the time had some pertinent information I really didn't need shared.

The funny thing, first- I didn't notice the embed tools were down, I thought Firefox was having an issue. Second, I saw the boxes on your entry and just thought it was my computer having one of its issues.
