But the finale for "The Shield" was months ago! :(
In fact, I wouldn't even put BSG as the best show Sci-Fi ever made, because that was "Farscape". Cross my heart, smack me dead, put a lobster on my head.
Mind, I'll still take BSG over a lot of the crap that's on the air right now (take that, Simon Cowell!), but it's still a very low priority amongst the handful of current shows I *do* watch.
"I didn't get a Whedonesque vibe from it whatsoever"
I don't know. I actually did. I think it was in the dialogue.
The Dollhouse pilot certainly didn't grab me the way the other Whedonverse shows have, but given some of the early reviews, I was expecting something awful, and it wasn't. I have trouble seeing how the concept can be played out for very long though.
Then again, I'm still confused how "Fringe" has managed to stay on the air this long. I tried the pilot - TWICE - and just couldn't get through it. Didn't figure it would last a month after that.
I was also expecting "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" to be crap, and these days I enjoy watching it and look forward to it more than I do "Heroes". Go figure.
Movies one and two are really all you need for TSCC (and mainly #2), since the TV series is following a different tack than the newer films.
Granted, my comment above was more a criticism of how bad "Heroes" has become since Season One than an attempt to suggest TSCC is above average or something. Decent Friday night fare, though. ;)
They had that pilot, but they swapped out the vampire and the ghost for different actors (in my opinion, this is a VERY good thing) and the actual show started up a few weeks ago. VERY good!

I've never seen Sarah Connor Chronicles, but then again, I've seen only the second Terminator movie, so I figure I should watch those movies first.
