Possibly. But I'll accept anything - movies, books, TV series, whatever. The thought occurred to me while thinking about Final Fantasy XII... humans run that world, even though they are. Same for Star Trek... the Vulcans basically are superior to humans in most ways and were decades ahead of human technology, but how long was it before Starfleet was a human institution?
Well, I'm not sure about the first part and the ones I'm going to suggest for the second part are up for debate.
Battlefield Earth and Planet of the Apes. I only know of the first from the terrible movie of the same name, I've never read the book. The second I'm not 100% percent sure they ever overthrew the apes, but in the end became equal partners.
Planescape. Humans are just like everyone else as all things are equal on Sigil. If my memory of the setting is still accurate, but I could be wrong as it has been many years since I last did anything with that setting.
Also I think Monte Cook did a setting where the dom race was a leonide race, but again my memory could be false.
