School starts tomorrow, and I never did get around to going school shopping-- not properly, anyhow. I did buy a couple of skirts at a cool little thrift store a while back, but I still basically have nothing to wear, thanks to this way I have of absolutely destroying clothing by simply existing. I don't know how it happens. I don't have to do ( Read more... )

What a comfort it will be to see the Les Mis book ... like transitioning last year into this year ...

BOOOO SCHOOL. Lol.

XD It's taken me way too long to finish. It might have helped if I hadn't kept putting it aside to read other things, but still. I've been reading it since May. (Still, as long as I'm still reading it, maybe we can just pretend we're not seniors yet. High school is not almost over, really!)

I plan on clinging to my denial until at least third hour, personally.

Yes. *hangs head in shame* I can't seem to concentrate long enough to make much progress. I've made it to Gavroche's death, though! (;-;)

Oddly enough, I didn't burst into tears when Jehan died. It's possible that was because I was reading it at a family gathering thing, though, and generally try not to burst into tears at random at those. :) I did eep a little at Enjolras directly after, though. "Your friends have just shot you." Seriously. Scary, scary boy.

Something tells me that that book won't be my friend either. I don't know if it's the resemblance to Bean Trees, or the utter sappiness on the back cover, but I've just left it in the bathroom where it belongs. Until 6:59 AM tomorrow, it lives on the counter.

Darnit. Now I feel bad for the thing.

I actually liked Bean Trees, but I don't think this one's going to grow on me the same way.

Ahhhh BARRICADES. But really, forget Les Amis, the important question is do you like Cosette? ...*is shot* Anyway. I WANT PICTURES OF YOUR SHOES. XD I love shoes soooo much. Especially red shoes.

Oh yes. I must ask, does your translation have the "I have come to sleep with you," line?

Actually, I do like Cosette. She's not my Favorite Fictional Character Evar (because that place in my heart is always and forever reserved for Lord Henry) or my favorite in Les Mis (that would be Bossuet. Or maybe 'Ferre. Or Joly. Or . . . well. I'm indecisive, clearly.) But I do like her. She's sweet. I'll post pictures of my shoes later, I promise. :D

. . . I don't actually know. When does that line happen? Wherewherewhere . . . ?

YEY. You win, then. XD She's probably not MY favourite either, or wasn't, but now I'm just forced to be biased because no one else is. and YEY!

Umm... right after when Thenardier and his gang try to rob/kill Valjean, and Marius is watching and finds out Thenardier is Thenardier and is all omg conflicted, then Javert comes? It says that Marius didn't want to live there anymore, so he went to Courfeyrac and said, "I have come to sleep with you."

Cosette deserves some love. :) Most fictional women of her time period tend to be a lot more annoying.

Hm. I'm not sure. Maybe? Possibly? I'll have to check. I think I'd remember if it did, but then again, I've got a really awful memory, so it's possible.
