So my usual approach to picking up shifts at work is to sign up, note the time and dress code, and forget about it until about the time I have to change clothes and run out the door to get there. Rarely, if ever, do I know what the event is before I show up.

I live in the same city as him and I've never had the pleasure. Wow! Get his autograph or something!

I did! He was here with a few other people (most of whom are/were writers from the Onion) doing readings from a book they all contributed to, and there was a reception afterward. So I went and spent too much money on a book so I could get them all to sign. And now I am incapable of making any facial expressions which are not "^________^"
