So, McKenzie and I have decided to buy a house.  We've come a long way in our plans recently.  At first, it was, "we'll probably never be able to afford a place in Portland, oh well."  Then it became a long-distance kind of plan...maybe one day we'll somehow have the kind of money to buy a nice place here...but even then, I wanted city and Z wanted

I feel like I'm reading my own journal. :-)

There have got to be more people who want to sell. Hopefully as the weather gets better more houses will come on the market. I think it's still basically the beginning of the home buying "season." Good luck!

Yeah -- I mean, I'd be open to selling the place I own in Virginia if that didn't mean taking a loss on it, which I don't want to do. I have no desire to sell it, though, so it's not a problem. As long as it stays rented, it pays for itself. Anyway, I have a feeling that's what's keeping a lot of people from selling right now. Those who can wait probably will, until the market improves.
