A little of this, a little of that...

Two pieces of recent news that I forgot to share.

There is an "interview" with Austin and Jeff from A Vintage Affair on my blog site. In December I was asking readers what kinds of things they would enjoy on my Facebook Fan Page, and character interviews were one of the things they suggested. Since I know everyone doesn't love Facebook, I thought I ( Read more... )

Jeez. I would hope so! I've got two sitting in the queue right now waiting on ACX to approve them for sales channel. That would be All She Wrote and Come Unto These Yellow Sands.

I just finished Fatal Shadows and enjoyed it a lot. So I'm looking forward to getting A Dangerous Thing next and the rest in the months to come. I see my getting back into Audiobooks thanks to you.

Thank you, Becky.

I've renewed my own love for audio books through this process. They make for an unexpectedly intense reading experience, don't they?

I think there are things I get from the audio I didn't get from the text, because there's that extra factor of the narrator's interpretation of the text, especially the dialogue.

Like in Fatal Shadows, in the audio in the second half of the book, the reader gave me the distinct feeling that Jake is challenging Adrien. He's saying prove to me that there's more to you than meets the eye, show me what you're made of, prove to me that I'm not wrong to be attracted to you. Anyway, that's what I picked up from the narration, which I don't think I did reading the text.

Yes!

And I keep hearing from readers how funny they're finding Somebody Killed His Editor in audio, so however amusing it was in print, it's clear that Kevin's narration ups the funny factor in the audio.

I'm loving that added dimension.

I haven't listened to an audio book for years - probably because to me an audio book comes on a cassette tape that you put into a machine, press play, the tape gets stuck and slowly unravels...Reading these comments, I'm seriously tempted to move into the 21st century and try again.

If you've got a smart phone you can listen on that. Is that crazy or what? I used to do the cassette tapes too. :-)
