Car's in the Body Shop

At the Shell station on St Pauls today, I got hit by another Civic, oddly enough, albeit a '99. It was a Y intersection, he was going straight, I curved around the station, and a large coke truck was delivering soda on the corner, meaning the other car didn't see me.. so we were both headed for the same parking lot, and he rammed me on the front ( Read more... )

Jesus. I'm glad you didnt get hurt and that it wasn't worse than that. Look at it this way, with the stimulus check you won't have to pay a dime for the car, AND you'll have an extra hundred on the side.

You're right, and that's how I'm choosing to look at it. It could have been worse, and we both walked away from the wreck. Honda makes a great car, I barely even felt what had to be a 25 mph collision, though my car really rolled with the blow because of where the collision took place. I could have been the other guy, whose car is completely totalled.

At least you can be comfortable in the knowledge that you are actually stimulating the economy. Had you instead saved the money, or worse, paid off debt, we'd really be up a creek.

Oddly enough that had been my plan, like, I'm sure, 90% of all the other intelligent Americans. I was going to drop it into my Roth IRA, as my debts are mostly paid.

Fortunately, it has absolutely nothing to do with being intelligent. It has to do with being fiscally responsible. And I know a LOT of intelligent people who are not fiscally responsible.
