God, clearly enjoying his existence decided to create others so they could enjoy the great gift of existence as well. God did not create suffering at least in respects to man, but merely the knowledge of evil. Those who came to know such knowledge were then capable of doing evil. As you can see, once we knew about evil, we not only started doing it all the time, but became pretty good at it. Now, it is not so much that God wants to torture you for eternity, but in order to go to Heaven, where no evil exists, you need to separate yourself from evil. Further, because God is the only one with the strength and the wisdom to help you separate yourself from evil, and the suffering evil brings, you must accept God’s help with the matter. Thus, if you have not accepted God AND separated yourself from evil when you die, you cannot go to heaven where the taint of evil does not exist.
