Arg, my desks are a mess. Both of them. I don't mind the drafting table being a mess. It's more or less supposed to be. But my messy computer desk is somewhat of a problem, because I sit at it all the time. However, I'd rather sit at it and write about it than get up and clean it. I can't stand high school dreams. Pure, utter, evil nightmares!!

But just think - how much about self-confidence did being a drum major actually teach you in the first place? Whether or not you felt confident then, it probably did wonders for your coping and leadership skills. It's kind of a catch-22 argument.

very true. i did learn alot from that year. how to and how to not discipline people, how to interact with people so that you can be both a leader and a friend, and that you get much better results from asking people to do something rather than telling them. although i REALLY learned that last one in trying to get my brother to help me with the household chores.
