Generation: sixth generation-speculation- (rumours would abound that she was seventh...but the people associated with them are not longer with us. Those little gossip mongers used to postulate that she lowered her generation by engaging in diablerie/amaranth. Friends would say that Catherine was always- most probably-sixth generation as her sire's (Marc de Vaunernier) actual generation is subject to question since his sire, Comte St. Germain, thought to be one of Tremere's original council members, is perhaps of the third or fourth generation. However, very little is known about Comte St. Germain and Marc is not willing to talk about him. Both Marc and Catherine are humble when displaying their abilities as to not give the game away. Afterall, rumours and half-truths create fear, and fear is good. Underestimating them is also desirable, they say.

I wear so many masks and have a number of agenda's...people who say that they forget who they are because of this will fail in achieving their goals. My masks are genuine to my true personality and I wear a different one with each person I am with.
Catherine is not unlike a spider, weaving threads in multiple directions into a complex tapestry with the hope of reaching her goal once she is done. So what if a few flies get into her way?
Catherine leads more than a double life, always waiting, plotting and planning the next move that will gain her more power, but if something goes wrong, if the wrong people find out of her deceptions, she gonna have lots of s'plainin' to do.
She is a socialite, not because she enjoys it but because the information and intelligence she gathers from her dealings is priceless. In that way she becomes an information broker, trading information for other things that will propel her up the next rung of the ladder. And as we know, information is the prelude to power. Catherine makes an excellent adviser and prefers to be the power behind the throne. In other words, she'd rather manipulate a prince than become one when it comes to Camerilla dealings. Indeed, she is rather more interested in the internal politics of her own clan. She has a real passion for knowledge of all sorts. She gathers most of the information herself, but she does have a web of informants in the guise of her "courtesans" who work for her as part of a high class escort service. However, for more unrefined tastes, she also runs a prostitution ring out of her club, Duvet.
She is a intelligence gatherer in every sense of the word, a spy, a double agent. She hold the clans best interests at heart, but loses no opportunity to serve herself. In that way she is very much 'Tremere'.

She has a bit of a prickly demeanor and her sentences are often punctuated by sarcasm. Her accent is polished even though she has a bit of a croaky voice, but by no means unpleasant. If you have seen Vesper Lynd in the train scene in Casino Royale, then you have a pretty decent idea of what Catherine sounds like and her sarcastic nature. However, the similarities end there (well, yes, we realise that it is the same PB).
