is it wrong that i really want to punch feral in the mouth right now? fuck him and his 'how do you think those 22 families feel?' bullshit. speaking as someone who lost family due to dubya's inability to think his decisions through, i am very happy that our current president is trying to get some basis for the choice he is about to make. at ( Read more... )

Your right about Feral and Doomshadow not loosing their brother because of war. Really, neitehr did you. You lost your brother because there is nothing in place to really HELP those returning soliders deal with everything they experiance while deployed out ( ... )

you and feral can both fuck off for all i care. you arm-chair generals don't get it. sending another 40K Americans into harms way simple to send them there doesn't do anybody any fucking good. especially since all we're doing is helping to prop up one of the most corrupt countries on the planet. but if we're going to do it, i'd rather it be done right. i'd rather the president and his generals think it through before they act. i'd rather they have known goals to accomplish. i'd rather they have a good strategy in place to accomplish those goals. if it takes time to figure these things out, then so be it. to simply send more Americans over there without goals and plans is pointless.

When people are upset, they lash out and look for someone to blame, and they're going to do it in a manner that best preserves their egos.

That means people who supported the man who started two wars--at least one of which was a personal grudge match both legally and ethically groundless--finding a way to make it someone else's fault that those two wars have cost our country thousands of lives and trillions in debt.

It means people like us, whose positions on the war back when it mattered allow us to blame the man who deserves it without experiencing any cognitive dissonance, having to watch people twist the facts into pretzels to preserve their positive image of themselves and their politics. Which is hard, because we've buried people we love, and in defending their own poor choices, those people are also defending the man who cost our loved ones their lives.

I don't have an easy answer about how to deal with wanting to punch people, because I'm a pacifist, and even I want to punch these people sometimes. (Especially people who ( ... )

Vigus, you fat fucking moron. You're the same asshat on the CG forums telling people to hold their breath instead of do actual cardio. You have to be one of the top ten stupidest mother fuckers I have ever heard of, and I have worked with autistic children on numerous occasions ( ... )

maybe you need to learn to read. I did'nt trivialize JJ's loss of his brother. I laid that blame soley at Uncle Sams feet. Any soldier will say the same thing. Uncle Sam does a good job of teaching soliders how to do the do, but not how to cope with all that comes after. There's a reason why returning soldiers have a high rate of suicide, spousal abuse, alcoholism, and assult charges filed against them. They havn't been taught how to cope by the same group that taught them how to kill ( ... )
