I did not question your ability to be properly married! It just seems unfair that you wouldn't be married to someone closer to your own age so you could at least have a chance at living a long life with them. Of course, if you don't like them and they're much older they'll die that much sooner...

Oh, it doesn't matter anyway! I'll be married to whomever I'm married to, and my duties will be the same no matter how old he is or how long he lives!

So I'm perfectly capable, in any circumstance, and I would think that each circumstance is equal to the next. There's really not much difference in an older man and a younger one.
