So, I have been freaking out about how much I still have to get done. So after starting a big batch of soup for my lunches this week, I threw the fabric for my masquerade outfit in the washing machine, and went back to get all the stuff I need to make my mask. I decided to make my own with impregnated gauze because 1) I apparently have a big head ( Read more... )

AFter it's dry, I can take a craft knife and fine tune it a bit, make the beak more pointy and curved down. I have that GOF coloring book that has a good headshot of fawkes on the cover, that's what I'm using as a model...

Thanks! I can't emphasize any more strongly to use vaseline around the hairline. I will NEVER skip that step again. lol

I had a full face done in school...I think it was before we lived on Ave. C. Anyway, yeah, Vaseline is very important. I still have it my mold, and though it was pretty good on the hairline, there are still a few eyelashes in there. Ouch!

yeah, we did it in stage makeup class... the mask was the only project I really did well on in there, Greg used to joke that he was going to have to start a remedial makeup class for me. lol

And it really holds up once it's painted. The one I made in college just broke a couple of yearws ago when it was dropped. The only thing that worries me is the weight... and keeping it on the stick. I told Ken I might need his help with that part.

that is so cool. What an excellent idea. I can't wait to see the finished outfit. Let me know if you need any help. Need to design any jewelry????????? Anyway, you're doing a great job.

Thanks! Hmmmm, I actually did buy some nice assorted green glass beads, so I might take you up on some zodico jewelry. I bought some earrings with the clasp that I like so I could make some. I didn't get a chain for bracelet or necklace, though i intended to. So I'll still need to get that and maybe I can give you all the supplies if I see you Saturday.
