Maybe it's self preservation or being nervous to actually (honestly genuinely) like someone after what happened with Mike (let alone with ANOTHER Mike) or it's just being a complete and total wuss--whatever it is, I keep thinking that I need to break myself of being in like with him

Men do not like games and can sometimes not know how to approach women. Why not take the initiative and ask him out?

I'm not playing games. It's not that I'm against taking initiative, I'm just scared. For all the reasons I wrote about above. I'm working on it, it's just really hard because I'm so unsure of what he thinks. I know I need to just do it, I'm just incredibly intimidated by the uncertainty.

It'd be really nice to get a clear sign, that's all.

Just ask and eliminate all doubt. If he isn't into you, he's not....if he is, he is. Nothing to be scared of, then you can stop wasting your energy on doing nothing.
