As Yue returns from her outing with Sokka to find Hahn sitting on her bed, she realizes that her cover is blown.

"I've been waiting for you."

Yue's blood starts to boil as she recalls what Sokka said to her early (and he's angry with me?)
#26 - Ice
"You're marrying me for the per--!" Yue nearly screams at Hahn, but he stops her by icily asking, "So you do think about me when you're with him?"
#27 - Fall
"Tell me," Hahn continues, eyes flashing angrily, "what has that peasant done that I haven't... was it making you that fish, or falling into the water or--"
#28 - Forgotten
"Stop, stop, stop," Yue screams, and Hahn's anger is (almost) forgotten as he watches the girl he loves fall to the ground sobbing.
#43 - Search
Hahn bends down and lifts her head up, searching for something, anything that might show that Yue regrets her time with Sokka.

But there was nothing, and Hahn's blood ran cold.

Sensing her fiance's anger, Yue starts babbling out apologies, and eager for something to justify why she hurt him so, Hahn slips his hand to her forehead, hoping for a tempature.

Neither of them talk; Yue is trying to compose herself, and Hahn is drifting back to what they used to be.

Their love had started out as cliche as it could; there was a dance, she was nervous, he sought her out, and it was love at first sight.

He had everything a girl could want; a comforting laugh, a gorgeous smile, impressive dancing, and a wide range of horrible pick up lines ("I could just drink in your beauty all night")

They had only known each other for a few hours, but come the end of the gala he had whisked her away from the royal world she had lived in, and showed her the world.

As they stood on a secluded beach, Hahn decided that music isn't needed to dance, and so he led the giggling princess through a series of dizzying twirls and dips.

And as they finally shared a kiss, both agreed that the beach was a place they'd never tell to anyone else.

But their social statuses were too far apart, and so afterwards the only got to see one another when Hahn would "accidentally" run into her.

It was the night of her 16th birthday when he ran into her again.

A small box clattered towards Yue as they both fell to the ground, and, at Hahn's prompting, she opened it.

"It's beautiful," Yue gasped, but as she reached to take the engagement necklace, Hahn pulled it away and put it on her himself, whispering, "Not nearly as beautiful as you."

Every boy wants to grow up and marry a princess, and for a that moment Hahn thought he had fulfilled that dream, but by means of a southern peasant, Hahn realized that it was only that; a dream.

He is strong, he will not cry, he is strong, he will not cry...
#39 - Overwhelmed
Seeing her fiance struggle not to cry (what have I done?), Yue just starts crying again.

"You don't know how horrible I feel about this, you aren't even trying to understand, you don't know how badly I want to stop this--"

Hahn's voice is barely louder than a whisper; "Then why haven't you?"

"I don't know..."

He knows her, he knows all her body language and he is getting angry, "Stop lying to me!"

Yue is a princess, a title, an image; as such, she is taught to tell people what they want to hear, to act as her title.

"I hope you'll forgive me," Yue states, voice lacking any sincere emotion.

"As you wish, Princess Yue," Hahn says in a similar tone, bowing.

Her emotionless mask cracks within a second, but she has no more tears to shed.

Part of Hahn is sorry, but he won't forgive her, she's caused too much pain to be dismissed by five words, her betrayal will stay with him forever.

"Can't we just talk about this?" Yue hiccups.

Hahn gives out a humorless laugh, "What's to talk about?"

"W-well..." Yue stammers out and looks down, "If you look at it from my side... Sokka... he's... he's really not that bad."

"What?" Hahn is not a violent person, but at that moment he wanted to hit her so badly.

Yue's cheeks turn red, and she knows that she shouldn't have said that.

One is always told to count one's blessing, and as Yue looks up, she is very thankful that Hahn is not a waterbender.

But she can't help it, for before Sokka, she never knew what it was like to defy gravity.

But, a part of her mind chides, didn't you used to say that being with Hahn (walking with Hahn, talking with Hahn, kissing Hahn) give you wings?

Breath in, breathe out, Hahn tells himself, don't get angry, you love her, even if she doesn't give a shit about you anymore and would rather be having a fling with a filthy piece of southern scum-- breathe in, breathe out.

Hahn is still telling himself to breathe when he comes to a sudden conclusion-- he loved Yue, but not anymore, oh no, he loves the shy, quiet girl he first met, the girl he now only sees in his memory.

After a quick look at her fiancé's expression, Yue finds that's she's never noticed how fascinating her clothing is.
#19 - Candle
The candle in the room flickers as Hahn coldly says, "Go on."

Yue's mind is abuzz with thoughts (what is he playing at, what is he planning, what do I say) but her ideas all come to the conclusion that there's no problem with saying a few things.

As Yue goes to say a few good things about Sokka, they both know that their whole relationship is going down the drain.
#49 - Lock
They were both stuck; while she didn't want to talk, she didn't fully believe Sokka was that bad, and while he didn't want to hear her talk of Sokka, he wanted to prove to her that Sokka was wrong for her.
#22 - Journey
"He's a companion of the Avatar, he's traveled around the world, he's a... a..."
#02 - Hero
"A hero?" Hahn snaps out (I thought I was your hero...) and fed up he yells, "Fine, if you want a new hero, I don't mind in the slightest!"
#17 - Promise
"No, Hahn," she begs, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, please, let's just forget about this, I promise I'll never bring Sokka up again."
#32 - Farewells
"Whatever," Hahn mutters as he pushes past her and leaves.
This wasn't intended to be a dialogue/story, but I did 26, 27 and 28 in a row and they fit so well, and it just evolved into a story. And while some parts of this I love, I really don't like this as much as I wish I could. Too choppy, I think, because I had some lines that would fit together, but I didn't know how to connect each clump and I moved some things at the last minute and [insert more writers angst here].
