Victoria was my queen, Victoooria!

While it has been unseasonably warm, even hot, these past few weeks, I was not able to have my solitary garden party for Victoria Day, as it poured rain all day. Instead I drank my fruit cordials inside and painted the sitting room. And I think we are the only country in the world that celebrates what an awesome queen Victoria really was. Although I like Europa Univeralis (and Rome, Hearts of Iron, etc) I did find Victoria a little too steep, specifically in trade. That's just me, though.

Victoria has vastly improved with an expansion Revolutions, and with the fan made modification the Victoria Improvement Project. The learning curve is still quite steep, but the economics is easier, especially if you have more laissez-faire economic policies, which means the capitalist class will do most of the economic management. You no longer can centrally plan the economy unless you have that policy.

Considering you like Paradox's other games, it's well worth coming back to Victoria provided you get the $10 expansion and modification. It's a vastly better game, and probably Paradox's deepest and most ambitious. Hopefully they will make a sequel someday.

Well, it would have been nice to say "I know a Canadian MP," but I guess you have to do what's right for you. :-)

Well, technically I would be an MLA (member of legislative assembly), because this is only a provincial election for Nova Scotia, not a federal one.

I'd probably have more chance at being an MP though, as the MLA incumbent is so popular.

I had a similar issue with my phone company. My bills just kept climbing for no reason (hidden fees) until I finally threatened to jump ship. They wiped away the hidden fees in a heartbeat and I'm back down to a reasonable rate. Congratulations on the car, though. Is it your first one?

It is my first car and thanks.

I have worked for the phone company and my only advice to people is read the terms of service. The small print may be boring, but it usually explains how not to lose a pound of flesh every month. The phone company certainly isn't innocent in this, but 90% of the time irate customers had high bills because they didn't bother to learn how exactly their plan worked. The other 10% was because the sales department, greedy to exceed quota for a monthly bonus didn't give the customer the plan they said they were giving.
