I live in Portland and am looking for LJ friends who want to end racism, sexism, etc. plus be themselves in the process ... I'll add you and then if you add me, let's see how things go! I found you through stalking for folks with common interests.
I will add you, though you might want to know a little more about me before you decide if you still want to read my journal.
I am not a religious or spiritual person and have no desire to become one. I have no moral objection to pornography, and am not particularly fond of the moralist point of view. I take issue with pornography on a purely social/political level. I don't take issue with sexworkers.
I rarely (if ever, not sure) post about pornography on my personal journal. You may see a few writings on feminism, though. Most of my journal postings are about art (I paint) or family-related stuff.
I have to admit that am a religious guy. HOWEVER, I am a strong advocate for freedom of choice. I SUPPORT your stance and your position on pornography. I believe that we all should choose for ourselves. I am doing my best to ignore the religious and moral issues surrounding pornography on my own blog, mainly because I believe that once religion enters into the discussion it gets all screwed up. In fact, I wrote one post on this issue pointing out how in Indonesia right now, their attempts to stop the spread of porn are being undermined by the religious right trying to go overboard...actually looking crazier than the pro-porn groups...go figure! Ha, happens everyday in the name of "religion".
I am an artist myself, so this only intrigues me more to check out your journal.
Besides, I want to get to know more of the A-P group members.
Actually I had a meeting at at school at 1:00, so I passed by to check it out. As I was leaving, (1:50 or so) I could hear them screaming all the way from the graveyard.
