I find that girl absolutely and utterly fascinating. I still cannot decide if she's being fed what to say to people or if it really is her own words that fall out of her mouth and make her sound INFINITELY older than she physically is. I hope she makes the transition into adult acting as seemlessly as possible. I'd be interested to see what she comes up with...

"And for me, when it's done it's done," she said. "I don't even think about it anymore."

Reminds me of the story of two monks who were walking one day when they came to a rapidly flowing river and a young woman who was leary of crossing. One of the monks offered to carry her across which he did and after leaving her on the other side the monks went on their way. A while later, down the road, the other monk said to the first, "You know, the master has told us that we must eschew womankind and yet you carried that woman across the river. What have you to say for yourself?"
The first monk replied, "I left her by the river. Why are you still carrying her?"

I seem to recall a similar outcry over Jodie Foster portraying a teenaged prostitute in Taxi Driver. The Inner Cynic suggests that a lot of this outcry is done to cover up the fact that a lot of people are finding Dakota Fanning attractive, and seeing her sexually abused is ringing some bells they'd rather not hear.

Personally, Miss Fanning reminds me of Jodie all over again, and I intend to keep an eye on her career. She may be repeating what she's heard from others, but if she can learn that kind of detachment from her roles, she's going to be a fantastic actress when she's older. And hopefully, she gave some thought to what she said. I believe so; she strikes me as an intelligent kid.

i agree..infact , i think she could hold a film on her own, shes amazing and id watch a film just for her in it.

anyhoo.. from the description of the actual scene i dont think people need to get worked up..it doesnt sound as though its film in the slightest way to be explicit or titilating. its a nasty subject..how can it be portrayed as otherwise.
