I enjoyed reading this; thank you for posting it. I get the same way sometimes--good to know I'm not the only one. However long it's been--twenty years, two years, two days--it can still hurt the same if you let it. And sometimes you just have to.

I was in the same boat last week when I too vacation time to spend with about 100 cadets being disconnected from the rest of the world. Got more time coming up the next 1.5 weeks for more family time. More time to disconnect from stress.

My Mom was rushed to the hospital this past weekend for severe chest pains and fortunately it appears to have been a false alarm. Dad has never had to deal with this. He rarely shows any emotions. This hit him hard. It's been one helluva wake up call for me and others.

Hope you find your disconnect time and enjoy every minute of it and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I'm glad to hear you are going to take some time for yourself and get introspection...

Is it possible for you to do something positive (ritualize, honor them, etc) to remember your loved ones (plant a tree, donate to charity, create a memory collage, etc..)??? Channeling your emotions/energy is a good way to process your feelings over their loss....

All the best this weekend xoxooxox
