The war in Iraq goes on to the tune of untold amounts of money, lives of Americans and Iraqis, (to say nothing of why the world at large now hates us) and all with no end in sight. We're fighting insurgents, NOT 'terrists'. Meanwhile, the Taliban in Afghanistan has never been better

No, they cannot get enough votes and the party supporting this bullshit is really disillusioned with the standard old bag of tricks now that there's so much stacked against them. That is not to say that they've developed any sort of collective moral conscience, just that in this political game it's all about who's gonna scratch your back and now that the GOP are under the iron fist of the Religious Reich, they're all seeing what they've done to help give unholy birth to the Frankenchrist that rules them.

Gas prices here in australia are worse than in the states i think.

$1.50 = 1 litre.

1 Gallon = 4 litres

1 Au = .75 c US

$7 AU for a gallon = $6 US per gallon over here.

Every time some mouthbreather utters that line "they're fighting for our freedom!" I want to slap the fucking shit out of them.

Instead, i swallow my rage (which by now, due to frequency, tastes like a strawberry smoothie) and ask them exactly what freedoms were in danger by Saddam Hussein, considering he was bosom buddies with Rumsfeld back in the 80's.

I ask them, "Why is he such a danger now?"

They respond "He's got WMD's!"

I reply "No he doesn't, none were ever found, nor were the facilities to produce them. He must have used them all against the Iranians and Kurds.. you know, the people he was gassing and bombing back in 1983 while the US looked the other way."
