In a little over 2 weeks, we will be making the move to Arizona. Damien's last day of work here is Thursday the 19th, and before I go to bed that night EVERYTHING will be properly packed into boxes. Arizona can be brutal in the summer heat, but almost everywhere is air-conditioned, and on all but the hottest days, the lack of humidity makes it very nice to sit in the shade, with a fan blowing a bit of a breeze. You won't miss the humidity you have experienced in previous summers, I am sure.
There are a lot of great people in Phoenix, and I am sure you guys will make a great circle of new friends in no time.

Of course it's going to be a huge change for you both, but you'll probably be so busy just settling in that you won't have too much time to dwell on the homesickness to start with. And it's not like you're going to another continent. It will be a wonderful adventure!

Bring lots of water for the ride from San Antonio west. It is pretty barren out there. Beautiful but barren.
