WHat version of Photoshop are you running? It's a filter action set called "Acidify" that I use on a lot of these, but they're heavily tweaked. I'm constantly running color balance -vs- curves adjustments, auto-highlight -vs- saturating layers, anything to get these things to look more like what I envision in my mind when I start.
I have a ton of TTV frames that I use as separate layers over the edited images, then change the blend mode (usually to Multiply) of the TTV layer to harmonize both images. Sometimes I add a 3rd layer for texture, just to see how it works.
Sometimes the strangest and most beautiful things come from the most obvious and normal. It's about as close to anything 'normal' as I can stand, frankly. I'm a bit freaked out by all things homogeneous and safe.
As someone who takes a lot of photos and also uses Photoshop as best she can .. I have to confess ignorance as to what TTV actually means? I'd like to know ..
