This is some unconscionable fuckery.A senior government official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expressed great interest in a so-called safety bracelet that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police Taser®. Makes you think that George Orwell wasn't too far off-base in 1984. I have to admit it's not all that surprising, which in itself, is a sad statement about our country.

Yep, that's right, dumbasses are getting their kids implanted with RFID chips in case they lose their kids or something.

Somewhere, Major Malfunction is cackling wildly.

Do we get sugar pellets if we buckle up?

Seriously though. Have you seen the promotional pictures of how it would work? There is one where you can shock ALL passengers in order to stop "mayhem" from ensuing. It is hilarious and fucking scary.

As someone who knows a bit about electrical shock, this would not be a very good idea. Mainly, as a shock device, putting a single unit on one wrist will not do anything to subdue a human. While you might feel an intense pain, it would be confined mostly to your forearm. Unlike a taser, which delivers it's punch usually through the torso and can involve a much larger area of the body as well as the heart, shocking the wrist leaves you with an intense burning at the hand and forearm. Your first involuntary reaction would be to try and fling the thing off or pull it with your other free (and fully functioning) arm. Even if being hit repeatedly with some rather powerful shocks, you could still get up and go after whoever is pushing the button, or anyone for that matter. In other words, fit me with something like this and I will still be able to punch the teeth out of the one in control. The added weight of the bracelet only helps in that matter ( ... )

That is some sick shit, my first thought was it's gotta be The Onion, but then I saw it's the Washington Moonie Times.

Not going to believe it until it gets into a genuine news source.

OTOH is there anything those fuckers wouldn't try?
