waxing poetic on yogurt (?!)

Because it's that kind of week, and I somehow got sucked into reading the archives for Girls With Slingshots:

The rest of the comic is really not usually safe for work, nor for the delicate of sensibilities*, but it is strangely amusing. The specific comic referenced here, however, *is*  ( Read more... )

Oh, my... that's my old cat Puck. She had the silent meow down to a science. :)

Actually, Rowandoll and I were just discussing the Silent Meow. R thinks it's not really silent, just so high pitched that we mere humans can't hear it - like a dogwhistle that only can be heard by vengeful mama cats. I decided that it was actaully a full meow, but it transcends the boundaries of this universe. It goes to the same place as cats go when you search the entire house and can't find them (only to find them lying right in the middle of the floor), or where they pass through to get into small spaces their skeletal structure shouldn't actually reach. I've dubbed it Meowspace.

We actually discovered one of Orlando's interdimensional hidey-holes the other day. He somehow managed to sandwich himself in the 3" gap between the kitchen cabinets and the ceiling. How he got up there, I'm not sure...

I like Greek yogurt (especially the kind with honey), but partly because of the creaminess I tend to think about it as more of a dessert thing. It's also like twice as expensive as regular yogurt, so I won't be having it for breakfast all the time.

It's less hideous when you can get it in the larger quantities, but yeah - not for every day. Although I'm finding myself remembering more and more that you get what you pay for, and corn syrup is awfully cheap (okay, yeah, not so much as it used to be, but ...) I might as well pay a little more to really enjoy an occasional treat.

That's what I tell myself, anyway ;D

"Corn syrup is awfully cheap"?

*shudder*

Pay more for better food and need less of it.

Greek yogurt is fabulous. I love it with raw honey and fruit- and after I spoon up the honey I use that spoon to take my cod liver oil with. Now THAT'S delicious! Now I'm hungry...

Ah yes, the First Ever Ravenslake A&S Education Day had a "how to make cheese" class at Maggie's house. Didn't try the end product, though. I have yet to try Greek Yogurt, but if you would like, I have some Huckleberry Honey I'd be willing to give to a worthy cause.

And I took McPedro's mustache to me more Latino in origin. Like the thick mustaches on the "evil/lazy/stereotyped Mexicans" in the old westerns.

See, I thought Latino too. Until it went on vacation to Paris and left notes in a cheezy French accent. And...Yeah, really, how much *wrong* can you put into one anthropomorfic plant anyway?
