I called my mom this morning, left a message, and she never called me back. That's really not like her at all. She rarely leaves the house, and she always calls me back after I leave a message. Usually within the hour. I think she's blowing me off, and pissed off that we're leaving. This bothers me ( Read more... )

possibly to, some people push away and create some distance so they can deal with loss and maybe she is doing that until she is used to you being gone?

I talked to her today.. I guess she never checked her messages, and when she tried to call us we were gone. Just misunderstandment.. but I think she is pushing me away emotionally to try and deal with us leaving. It sucks, but I'm sure she'll deal.

Michigan is rough in an already rough economy, and hopefully your mom will soon see that it has nothing to do with her personally.

She seems to be getting a bit distant, but more excepting. At least she's not laying a huge guilt trip on us like my grandparents. We're leaving soon though, so we'll be really busy and it will make it harder for me to have time to dwell on everything. Thanks for the support though.
