Oz really did suck. Hard. I'm holding out little hope that Alice will be better, though I kinda like the idea of Kathy Bates as the Queen. She can draw on those old Misery moments. :P

1. the switch to "syfy" is the dumbest shit ever. seriously, the dumbest shit ever. it is no longer the science fiction channel, it is the catchy homonym without any meaning at all except some stupid marketing school grad at whatever cable network owns the channel thought it was clever. as a result it is no longer a channel related to the science fiction fan subculture. it is complete crap. i also can't help saying it differently in my head.
2. i have SO much fun at that group watching of oz, it was awesome because the movie was so crappy. probably the closest thing to mystery science theatre in my little life : )
3. i would like to see it just to see, although i probably won't because of school/canadian basic cable.

1. A freaking men. Considering I remember the original countdown to the channel existing in the first place, I'm really saddened by the whole abandonment of loyalty to actual sci-fi over the last few years. *sigh*

2. MST3K FTW. Talk about something that needs to be brought back to "SyFy"

If you miss MST3k you should look up Cinematic Titanic and see when it's coming to Florida. It's the original cast of MST3k, and they're still making fun of bad movies, but LIVE. I saw it in Somerville and it was great.

haha... I was going to tell you this all sounded familiar and not to get too excited!!!

I am glad we all watched it though.. nothing like hairy monkeys coming out of boobies to entertain a crowd!

Yeah, I was so excited for Oz, mostly because of Deschanel, so I'm a bit apprehensive of a reimagining of TTLG/AIW involving martial arts and kathy bates. Much more hopeful for the motion picture.

Uh... I have no idea why someone like Alice would ever be a martial artist.

At least it has Tim Curry! That has to count for something. :D
