It seems to me that if most people saw how animals were treated and came to be processed then they'd reconsider their diet. I think it's silly that carnivorism is only present out of ignorance. I do question a lot of PETA's tactics and I think the false advertising of their CDs to their own audience is a bit disrespectful although their liberal model reflect the reality that people (by and large) are too stupid to willingly seek out information on their own and thus need to be coerced or led by a "benign authority" towards that end.

I still cling to conservative political ideals that believe that people can be informed and self-responsible but yes, in our current culture, with our system of learned helplessness... a liberal/authoritarian model is really the only option. It's sad.

It's especially sad when we are forced to choose between two candidates that we don't particularly like. I hate choosing the lesser evil! Well, I don't think Kerry is evil but he is a politician, enough said!
