Well I've emerged from my weekend isolation to report that I am halfway through The Half Blood Prince. I'm really enjoying it naturally but am particularly struck by all the mistakes. Who edited it? It seems as though the publisher cut a few corners in order to get it out early. Despite that, I'm completely ingrossed and reading it at breakneck ( Read more... )

I know what you mean about the mistakes in the new book... The big thing I noticed were some simple gramatical errors... But the story in this one is good...

Oh yeah I'm loving the story! I was a bit disappointed by #5 so its nice to have this one back up there standard-wise with the others. Just my opinion of course...

But yeah, grammar. I had to stop a few times and say things out loud to make sure I was reading it right. I can't remember them off hand but I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. It makes me feel less crazy. ;)

The big one I noticed was that they could not seem to conjugate words... Sentences kept being things like "the girls is watching" instead of "the girls are watching"

Ha! I didn't notice that one. I can't even remember or find specific problems but they were pretty glaring!

I hate books with numerous typos in them.

Yes its very hard to read! I don't think I've ever caught so many mistakes. It's just mind boggling that they let all of them slip by! I think Rowling should switch editors if this is going to be a problem. I would I think.

That's really embarassing, how much money this book is going to make, and they didn't even properly edit it!
This place is really addicting, isn't it!

I know! I have a feeling that there's going to be a lot of people complaining. I mean who wants to buy a book with a ton of grammatical errors? I think Rowling should fire her editors. Despite that I did enjoy it.

Livejournal is like crack! ;)

I am curious to know what you think of the book after you have finished reading it.

I loved it. I'm going to write a better review of it later today but yeah, I just really enjoyed it. Have you read it yet?

Yes, I read it last weekend. I loved it but I also loved Order of the Phoenix as well. I know you didn't like that one. =)

Oh no, I actually did like it. I'm too much of a fan not to. Just not as much as the other ones. 3 and 4 are my absolute favorites. I think that maybe I just don't want to have a whole lot of sad stuff happen to them. And I hated seeing Black die! He was one of my favorite characters.

Anyway, the review is up now so you can see what I really think in long and exruciating detail. ;)

mmm i love it too! its super nice and my apartment is soo pretty! it faces the street and is on the third floor. i had actually wanted a 1st floor one but the location was kinda dark and during winter it would have been so dark and dreary. the third floor one had extra windows, even one in the bathroom which was rare.

you are welcome to spend the night/whatever especially when it snows. think about cause im right down the street from you now! i can bug you and see you in 2 secs. muhahah. feel free to come live. my bathroom has a roman tub and an extra sink! and a washer and dryer!

thanks for the good luck. its so hard. im pulling a good grade but its super hard and its 4 credits so i need a good grade or else my gpa plummets. thats why my dad has been studying/helping me out.

i hope to be back soon. i miss you so much. :/

Seriously, we can bug each other all the time now! ;p Is it a one bedroom/one bath? I think that's what Brennan has (the girl I know who lives in The Lodge). I adore the materials they used in them!! <----interior design geek alert!

Anyway, I'm sure you'll do fine in your class. What are you doing that's so difficult? I was thinking of taking that class too.

I miss you too! :(
