Sleep Training has Begun

I spoke to my pediatricians assistant yesterday.   She told me to worry about the bottles last. She told me to start by keeping Jessie in her room at night. She said when Jess wakes in the middle of the night to go into her room and give her the bottle (that I usually give her in my bed) in the chair in her room (the same place we do the night- ( Read more... )

Ugh...I'm so sorry that you are having such struggles with this. I seriously don't know how you do it, going on interruptted sleep for nearly 2 years. Somewhere, there is a medal with your name on it.

Glad to hear that you made progress in the first night. Hopefully tonight will be a little easier, and the night after a little more. From what I remember, it takes 3-5 days for sleeping habits to change so maybe by the end of the week you'll have worked through the roughest parts.

And yes, you are doing everything right. If you're seeing an improvement, you're doing something right! every kid is different so you just have to find what "clicks" with Jessie and go with it. Good luck!

Thanks Liz. I really need to hear that I'm doign the right thing. I am about to fall on my face at the end of the work day and I know I have to go home and do it again tonight. Ugh!

I hope tonight was better for you. Each night, you should distance yourself a little more (talk less, move closer to the door, etc.). I hope this morning finds you better rested!
