The story I most enjoyed this week was “The Garden Party” by Katherine Mansfield.

Many language techniques were utilised effectively by Mansfield in this piece of writing that makes the reader instantaneously connect with the main character Laura.

Hi Jess- good overview of the story and you offer a real insight into Laura's independence: her challenge to her mother's world.... Well done. How about trying your own challenge now in the form of a poem or two... did the Mirikitani poem this week stir your insight into your own situation? I would love to see you experimenting with poetry along these lines.... But overall your LJ is looking diligent... but let's see if we can release a really creative spark from Jessica!
