I'm fine with not having "affordable health care." It's affordable if you want your taxes hiked up to serve people who come here illegally. Not that I have anything against latinos (I'm in my third year of Spanish and I heart Mexican food). Oh hey why can't our government pay for it? We already had that damn bailout and stimulus plan. How'd that work out, Mr. President? Oh I'm sorry, yeah I'll just let my family go into debt to pay for healthcare I'm supposed to have for "free" from my dad's 20 year service in the military. /I'm so sorry if that came out bitchy. I'm just so tired of the healthcare debate
As per the article; yeah that's bad. Russia can go fuck themselves basically. (:
>:( Hey, in the end, we blew them out. And besides, it's Russia :p A lot of them are assholes. I know, I used to date one ;)
Still, I'd like to shove a hockey stick up the ass of whomever wrote that article. Military brutality? At least the leader of our country didn't starve out or kill over 200 million people, like some political leaders I could point to *cough*Stalin*cough*
So yeah, Russia, thanks for enabling us to win World War II, but your media can go fuck themselves, you bunch of sore losers.
And now we're looking at the complete opposite of what the games are supposed to be about. That's just really sad. I have to admit, I had no idea that tensions were so high between Canada and Russia (especially during hockey games?)
As for Pushenko vs Evan... the quad isn't everything. It's simple math and Plushenko is currently behind the times how the skaters are stacking their programs. More triples + triples w/time bonus > a quad. I think I'll use that as a math problem in class on Monday.
As for the medal count: It's a medal count. It has nothing to do with anything else but it's fun to see.
You are so right. the quad is nice to have but doesn't mean your going to win. I was in bed when it happend I think, but from what I hear Evan skated the better program.
Personaly I'm quite happy with how many medal's we have, not that it rfeally means anything other then to keep track off things.
I watched the programs. It was one of those questionable decisions I've made over the last two weeks when I go: Should I go to bed at a reasonable time so I get enough sleep before dealing with the crazy, crazy school or should I watch the Olympics? I usually choose the Olympics.
Evan's program was solid. He landed his jumps solidly, completed everything and had great footwork. Plushenko did the quad, barely stuck several landings and didn't put jumps in the second half of the program where they are worth more points. He didn't fall but he didn't skate a perfect program either.
Yep. :) Personally, I've been enjoying them medals in the events where we don't normally medal. Like the nordic things. And, of course, I like the snowboarding medals but really I just like watching the crazy people do insane things on snow. ;p
