I believe theodicy is really the core issue of religion, personally I take a view similar to Leibniz.. I believe human freedom trumps human suffering, and the world is the way it is to maximize human freedom. This takes care of both natural and human evil, at least for me.

do you remember Matt from OG? From what I remember I think the two of you stepped on each other's toes a few times? and other times tried getting along. Am I wrong? At any rate, i saw him at the art festival this evening. He has a big belly now. I met his fiance. :)
