Eighteen weeks in, twenty-two weeks to go. Andy took a deep breath as she and Tucker pulled into the OB/GYN's office and gave him a smile of excitement

She repeats it because he can't have just forgotten it exists, right? Or he's messing with her, which she realizes when he mentions a new car. Which they don't need two of. Seriously, no. No, Tucker, no.
Andy adores the car he gave her, mostly because she's never quite going to get over the fact that he asked her what her dream car was and then made it appear like a magic, wish-granting genie. That will forever tickle her mind. She loves it. She loves him for doing it.
Two new cars for the babies? Will blow her mind. "Wait, you want to get another car?" She's not even thinking SUV.
Andy's not actually worried about herself. She has grand ideas about being able to mother two infants at the same time - and also his family is close, even if hers isn't. Then again, as the season starts at the end of January, Daytona gets going in February... Andy also expects that he's going to be distracted a lot in general.
"I'm counting on being able to let you guys know if I need anything." Andy said it with a huge smile and a pat to Tucker's leg. Mostly, she wanted to make sure that he knew she'd be okay.
Tucker has done the math on when the season starts and when he thought the baby (singular) was due. Later tonight, he will redo the math and think babies (plural) and try to think further about training up the other crew chief. Of course, it's not like Jameson is coming off a stellar season and changing up at this point is not going to be looked well upon.
He doesn't know that she and the babies going to be okay, hence his extremely delayed reaction in the doctor's office.
Clara says even more quietly, "let me know if you need help with him. I imagine that this is a lot for the both of you to take in and I'm guessing that underneath that smile he's given his niece, he's worried."
"I think it's in him to worry," Andy says just as quietly as she watches Tucker. "Between your parents and you and Kevin, even your sisters..." She trails off and goes quiet for a moment. "He's always had a lot to lose. He's already worried, but I'm okay. I just need to convince him."
She smiles again at Clara and leans up enough to run her hand over Tucker's back. It's not that she's getting super tired, but she's thinking how good it might be to lay down and relax for a while.
Clara softens a little in her smile and still and all, after all of these years, when Andy says what she says, Clara reaches for Kevin's hand. Kevin has no idea of course, but still gives his wife's hand a squeeze.
Andy's question brings Tucker's attention around and he gives his niece a noisy kiss and encourages her down from sitting part way on his lap.
"Yeah, we can go ..." Tucker replies softly and moves to stand and offers his hand for Andy to stand.
It makes her feel the tiniest bit guilty when he sets his niece down, but she does want to be horizontal for a bit and she still hasn't called her own family to tell them about the two-baby thing.
Taking Tucker's hand, Andy uses the leverage to stand and it dawns on her-- "In another couple of months, I'm going to have the hardest time standing up."
The idea makes her smile and she touches his jaw lightly when she gives him a kiss before thanking Marnie and Eliza for lunch.
Her mention of having the hardest time standing up gets that heated feeling of attraction from Tucker. Very basic. My woman. My baby(ies).
"I'm going to love that," Tucker says and then realizes what he just said, "even though you're going to want to smack me because you're probably going to not be loving that so much."
And Tucker is leaning and turning and giving kisses and hugs goodbye, accepting congratulations and such. His family is making no move to leave, they will probably hang out for a while just generally catching up.
"You love the weirdest things," she says with a loving roll of her eyes, then adds, "Including me."
More with the goodbyes, the hugs, the kisses - and Andy loves that they just sit and hang out there - before she steps outside and toward the car. Once there, she leans against the passenger door and pulls him close.
"There are like, fifty members of your family," more like fifteen, "that can assemble on cue. I love that." She gives him a slow kiss.
"It's lunch time," Tucker supplies with a smile as he gets the door for Andy and then gets the car door for her as well. "Free food brings us out," family brings them out.
Getting in the car and such, "I have this need to get things ..." Tucker offers with a smile. "My sisters keep telling me that all in all babies don't need that much."
"A baby probably doesn't need that much," Andy concedes, "but being prepared probably won't hurt."
She watches him as he starts the car, reaching out to run her fingertips along his cheek. "I know you're already worried and already stressing out, but it's okay to just enjoy it for a little while. You have the rest of your life to worry. Just..." She trailed off and took a breath. "Enjoy being with me for a while. This."
Well that's a mixed message, she pretty much just let him loose on the internet to get prepared.
"I'm getting my head around things," Tucker bumps his cheek into her touch and smiles. "We heard their heart beats and they were strong and the images showed everything seemed okay ..." he repeats what he did manage to take in from the visit when he wasn't completely a few minutes behind the conversation.
"I am enjoying this," he replies and that much is clear. "We should shop for mommy things on line when we get home."
