A visit to Apple-land

So, the bad news is that my IPhone chose to become an ex-Iphone 21 days after the warranty expired. The good news is the Apple store people gave me a new one anyway. So they've got that going for them from a customer service perspective.

That's very impressive - especially because they could easily have given you the hard sell on how you just had to spring for the iPhone 4.

I'd have considered ante-ing up for the 4, but only if it didn't lock me in to AT&T for another two years. I would guess Apple might feel a bit of a need to polish it's customer service reputation at the moment.

That was nice of them, surprised they didn't try to sell you on the iphone 4

I guess with the recent hubbub they are perhaps more inclined to try to keep their customers satisfied than to try to squeeze out every last dollar. Apple is generally known for wanting to keep it's fanbase happy enough that they will gladly pay through the nose for things, so it's probably good strategy for them to keep doing that.
