Ruling the world is too much like hard work. I do, however, have plots afoot to acquire a certain amount of indirect influence. Sufficient to achieve my goals, but nothing that requires expenditure of effort. :-)

Let's see, the ones I qualify for (sans pictures):

  • "talking science" - I do most of this in person.
  • "MacGyver" - I can do an awful lot with just my standard 12-gauge wire and leatherman; I've constructed a wirelessly-controlled stage light by duct-taping electrical contacts to an RC car.
  • "arts and crafts" - I've constructed jewelry and art out of old computer pieces for a while. in high school I wore a 286 processor as a pendant, and I recently made my girlfriend some earrings out of d8s and d10s.
  • “I’m pretty confident around an open flame” - High school chem lab, mainly.
  • “destroyer of quackery” - I challenge proponents of "ID" (and particularly advocates of teaching it in school) whenever I can.
  • “I may look like a scientist but I’m actually also a ninja” - I've had a decent amount of martial training and know my way around a sword pretty well.
  • “my degree inadvertantly makes me competent in fixing household appliances” - Mostly where "appliance" == "computer", but my engineering background is generally useful.
  • “I will crush you with ( ... )
