More links on the Mexican swine flu. I'm keeping all related links here; there's no need to worry if your government isn't announcing special measures. This post links to sites in English, the next one will link to sites in Spanish. The two previous posts in my journal have a few more links.

I will! Basically, all we have to do is touch nobody and nothing in public places, not self-medicate if we get the flu (of any kind) and go to the doctor to be tested, get a shot if we test positive and stay home until we get better :).

People who died of it believed it was simple flu, took medicine to treat their symptoms and kept with their everyday lives until they got too sick and their families had to take them to the emergency rooms :(.

It's scary stuff but I am annoyed by the media trying to hype it as the possible start of a global pandemic. They always try to blow things out of proportion and it's far too early for them to be making such assumptions. But I hope it blows over soon and doesn't claim any more lives.

Also, congrats on posting every day. It's very interesting. I wish I could find the time to post more to mine but it doesn't always happen.

I'm more annoyed for the international media than for the Mexican :D! Everything is very calm down in my city, where no possible case has been reported; we are worried about the affected cities, but as there has been no new deaths in three days (at least officially), it is more curiosity what keeps us paying attention to the news.

On the other hand, my sister's city is one of the four that declared a 10-days-without-classes tonight. But as I mentioned to cynlee in the other comment, even if we get sick it is easily treatable, as long as you don't self-medicate and go to the doctor as soon as you present symptoms. Thr you get a shot and rest, and that's all :).

(as for the posting, I admit on cheating twice and using the date-out-of-order feature :P)
