Is it bad I want a follow-up where Cal drops this little bomb on Thom at the most humiliating moment possible? I love the stream-of-consciousness POV where Cal's just holding on to his little secret because in the haze of his pain it feels like all he has left - one last bit of armor, one last weapon he can wield against all the hurt and batshit he's buried under.
