A newbie's request for recommendations

Hello everyone! *waves* I'm rather new to Jeremiah fandom. I'm having a great time slowly but surely working my way through all of the terrific fan fiction that's out there on this community and elsewhere - especially those stories that include my favorite character, Mister Smith. I intend to devour it all, but I wondered if I might ask for a few

About 2 years ago after discovering Mister Smith, I did a pretty thorough search for ALL Smithfic. There wasn't a lot. :-(

All my fics are tagged and in my memories.

Make sure you check out all of lbilover's, they are tagged. She hasn't written much Smithfic, but she's one of the best writers today.

OMG - belleferret gave me a link to this thread but I didn't check it until just now. Your interests and mine vis a vis Smith are the same, h/c and angst.

I used to write but not so much now.. but I am writing an angsty h/c Smith story that MAY see the light of day, someday, if the stars align just right. ;o)

In general, I love h/c most of all, featuring my favorite characters. Which means, currently, Mister Smith and any other characters played by Sean Astin. If you are ever interested in Samwise h/c Lord of the Rings stories, I have some bookmarked.

It didn't occur to me until after I replied that you had the word "hobbit" in your name... I was thinking you were a Jeremiah fan but perhaps not LOTR. I have quite a few Sam h/c fics bookmarked but I imagine you've probably already read most if not all of them. My favorite is perhaps The River by Indigo Bunting but there are a lot of good ones (but never enough!) out there.

I live "The River" by Indigo Bunting! I also really like "By Life or Death" by Mariole, which is really h/c for all the hobbits, but Sam is great in it. And I also like "Bad Step" by Mariole quite a bit, too, and "The Knife Meant for Another" by Laurajslr.

For slashier h/c (I like gen and slash as long as it's Sam-centric!), I love "Ice Storm" by Notabluemaia. Chapters 28-32 of "The Making of Samwise" by Bill the Pony have great h/c, too. And for sheer slashy angst-as-hurt, I recommend "Endurance Without Hope" by Bill the Pony, "Divarications" by Lobelia Sackville-Baggins, and "Heat Wave" by Teasel.

For h without the c, "Choices Unconsidered" by Merripestin (physical) and "An Impractical Joke" by Elycia (angst) come to mind.

Those are the best that I have read, I think. You're right, though, there's never enough! :) If there are others you'd recommend, I'd love to know of them. Thanks so much!
