Why do we condemn you, sweet leaf?

I love pot. I feel so disillusioned by this world which has condemned it. And why? Really, think about it, why? No deaths, no side effects, no provable long term damage. There are always propagandized rumours floating around. However, the real studies, the ones that prove the safety and benefit of marijuana, are repressed by the government. Except ( Read more... )

here's the thing though:
would you want philip morris growing it on a mass scale if it was legalized?
think of what would happen to quality, think of the additives, think of losing our beloved local strawberry cough and romulan strains for box after box of shitty doobies cranked out of a factory

No, I wouldn't want that. I'd want the right to grow it in my own back yard, or basement, for personal use, without fear of a fine, or jail time, or even confiscation of the plants. Pot being on the black market is a recent phenomenon. For millenia it was legal and used widely in most cultures. It's ridiculous to outlaw a plant. Even moreso than outlawing alcohol, which didn't work either. Prohibition of anything just causes problems that wouldn't have been there in the first place.

besides, so many people are afraid of mass production and additives being put into it, there would definitely be a movement of people dedicated to keeping it natural.
