This is silly, and ever so slightly teetering on the brink of that genre (slash) which I closet-read but do not ever, ever write. Please don't tell. If you have to blame someone, and I'm sure that you will, blame it on
alliecat8 who once wrote a little ficlet concerning pancakes...

This story was just about the cutest, sweetest damn thing I've ever read - and it still managed to keep Sawyer perfectly in character! Everyone was perfect really. Hurley, Claire - especially Rose. I nearly fell over laughing when I was reading their dialogue. Sawyer is just too adorable, I wanted to huggle and snuggle him throughout the entire story.
After all, the part of him that was Sawyer may have started packing his bags, but he sure as hell hadn’t checked out yet.
I loved that. :) And the ending line? Fantastic!
My ankle actually isn't doing that well any more :( and I had a terrible day at work today, so this really helped! I was in a total funk and you knocked me right out of it. Just wanted you to know how much you helped. Thank you!

I LOVE that you love this! I wasn't sure what you would think, but I see it as one of my best Sawyer-voices ever, and hoped that would be enough to please you and your bad ankle. So it's *bounce* and *squee* that you adore me for writing it and sending it out to you.
And you used your OMGWTFHAPPYJACK icon! I made the Jack in you smile. *beams*
After all, the part of him that was Sawyer may have started packing his bags, but he sure as hell hadn’t checked out yet. Thanks for pointing out that line. I thought it was a significant observation wrapped in fluff: Sawyer is ebbing and flowing there on the island. If they are stranded long enough, he may disappear almost all together (under Jack's expert care) with the help of his fellow survivors ( ... )

Thanks, doll - I needed this laugh today!
The idea of Jack obsessing about pancakes was hilarious.
(especially as I have a love of pancakes myself. I found a recipe for orange and cranberry pancakes the other day - yum!)
But Sawyer actually taking the time to find all of the ingredients, barter for them and then make the pudding was, as Rose says, "just sweet". And I love that it actually makes him pause for a moment, that he has nearly no ulterior motive.
But the fact that Sawyer is all for dessert - that just tickled my fancy!

So glad to have provided you a laugh when you needed it - seems to have been a bad night for several on my f'list, so the posting was timed to a cosmic clock, it seems. Sawyer bartering for the ingredients seems appropriate, doesn't it? So many have had to come to him for so much since they crashed - like Rose said, "Shoe don't fit so well on the other foot." But that's ok. Maybe this will have a snowball effect on the boy.
Thanks for your kind comments - and please forgive my tardy reply. I was suffering from PTPS (Post Traumatic Posting Syndrome). It's better now, I think.
