This was a very nice read. :D I like how you took the feel of the drabble and incorporated it rather than just expanding the one scene. It's very low-key and doesn't really force anything.

Somewhere between uncertainty, fear and hope, I found middle ground.
I think that one line sums up the feeling of it. I really loved that you kept it a bit unstable. I especially enjoyed your imagery and I love the feel of the first and last paragraphs particularly. :D
