Hmm, well I was in Torrance to visit a friend's grandmother, there were a lot of expensive houses. Maybe it was just the parts that we were driving through, but it didn't look dangerous to me >_>
Oh, dang it. I'm going to San Diego the weekend of the 10th. Boo. :(
Torrance is a pretty good area. Just depends on which part you will be in. Where the "store" is, it's good. It's in a business area and there is nothing but an oil refinery, and warehouses that are upper scale. Up the street is a nice park and further still, are shops, etc. It's perfectly safe.
Now the surrounding area of Torrance, like Culver City or Crenshaw... SOME of those areas BLOW. But again, that's like 15 miles away and again, not all the area.
Sorry to miss you. I'm going to a doll wedding. Ack. :| I know. Don't give me a hard time. I will get shot if I miss it after all this time. Christian and Trent MUST go. I MIGHT be able to get to Volks on Sunday, but that's REALLY up in the air because it's a huge drive home. Bailey at the store is great. Just tell her hello and that you're friends with me... and she'll probably roll her eyes at you. Maybe not saying your friends is better. ;)
Hehe, thanks! The Mapquest from our hotel looks like a relatively straightforward path to where the store is, so hopefully there will be no wandering through sketchy areas oO But from what everyone's saying, it sounds pretty safe ^^
Aww, who's getting married? XD That's cool though, I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna make it to the store, but I'm hoping :P It's probably my best shot in the near future, so yeah. Hehe, I've actually had some transactions with Bailey in the distant past, I wouldn't count on her remembering me but I'll probably mention I'm on DoA, anyway, hehe. XD
Thanks! And yeah... it'd be cool to actually have a doll with me and meet people and stuff. :( (Of course, I'm still not sure I'll actually make it to the store.. meh.)
Yeah, I probably shouldn't buy too much there (haha, yeah right ;D), but it will be cool to see everything in person, not to mention just see the store.. X3
Well, they might have been thinking of the oil refinery. That's a bit of a strange area (close to the freeway). And if you go inland on Crenshaw instead of towards the store, well, not as nice. But towards the ocean and around the store - no problem, nice lawns, fancy houses, shopping areas, business district.

Shopping in person is fun, although the 8.25% sales tax sucks eggs.
Hope you have fun! :D Wish I could come by and meet ya.
